The Wallstreet Journal online has an interesting article on Barack Obama’s Latin America Foreign Policy. It’s unsurprising that the Obama administration seems to be doing everything it can to get in the good graces of all the Latin American Leftists Leaders. American Liberals just can’t seem to help themselves.

It started for the Obama back in April. Just a few months after taking office. In the April Summit of the Americas help in Trinidad, Obama was treating Hugo Chavez like his long lost brother. Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela is a major launching pad for the Cocaine that finds its way into America with support from high-ranking officials in Chavez’s Government. He is also been a vocal critic of America. Not exactly a leader an American President should be looking at as a boon companion.

When Rafael Correa was “re-elected” as President of Ecuador in June, President Obama called to congratulate him, expressing “his desire to deepen our bilateral relationship and to maintain an ongoing dialogue that can ensure a productive relationship based on mutual respect.” Apparently, Obama needs a refresher course on the meaning of the term “mutual respect” Correa is a leftist of the Hugo Chavez model and has never shown any respect towards America.

There is also evidence that Correa is deeply connected with FARC. FARC is a Marxist organization, and classified as a terrorist group by our government. There is evidence that FARC helped finance Correa’s 2006 Presidential Campaign.

Now, Obama is putting pressure on Honduras to reinstate Zelaya. Another leftist. He was ousted after trying to retain power in violation of his country’s Constitution. He went so far as to call for a referendum to completely rewrite the Constitution so he could run again. Only the Congress of that country is Constitutionally empowered to call for such a referendum, and they shot the idea down. Zeleya decided to go with the referendum anyway, and got ballots from his leftist buddy, Hugo Chavez. When the ballots were confiscated by the government, Zeleya lead a mob in an attempt to take them out of storage.

The Attorney General of Honduras then filed legal charges against Zeleya for violating the Constitution, and the Supreme Court granted an arrest warrant for Zeleya. After his removal, Congress named Micheletti as President. He was the man next in line according to the Constitution.

In short, there was no coup. But President Obama thinks there was because he is paying attention to the spin put on what occurred coming from Hugo Chavez. Getting foreign policy information from a Leftists-Marxist is never a good idea.

And the latest on Zeleya, he’s been endorsed by that terrorist group, FARC.
